….there’s much more going on over at my other blog, Blogging Aquinas. Though admittedly it’s not to everyone’s taste.
Some things I’ve seen recently, around and about the web.
It seems that one of the leading sources for global warming data is incompetent–at best.
One of the folks at the Tcl Conference mentioned a website called Fantastic Contraption, at which you build odd little machines intended to convey a package from here to there. It’s a physics game, and geometry, weight, and traction are all very important. After it was mentioned, it was not an uncommon sight to see attendees playing it on their laptops while the sessions were on-going.
My younger son, the 9-year-old engineer, has been rapt for the last hour.
And folks want to vote for this guy? How come? Change is frequently change for the worse.
These days, when I read something bad about someone on-line I tend to take with a grain of salt, or perhaps even several–I’ve too often taken such stories at face value when I shouldn’t have. But if this is true, it’s utterly despicable.
In light of McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate yesterday, I found today’s Doonesbury to be especially funny.
Sendak meets Lovecraft, courtesy of Dale Price. Looks like fun.
Here’s a new blog that I’ll be keeping an eye on; I found it in the referrers list for Blogging Aquinas. The author, “James the Least”, calls himself a modern iconoclast…which is to say, he’s dedicated to smashing the idols of the Modern Age.
