Big News!

Big news! Julie has asked me to contribute to her book reviews blog at Patheos, Happy Catholic’s Bookshelf. I’ll be joining Julie and Jeff Miller, the Curt Jester. Patheos seems to be where all the cool kids are hanging out these days, so I’m pleased and excited to be asked.

Not to worry, this blog won’t be going anywhere; any reviews I post over there, I’ll post here as well. You won’t miss anything. On the other hand, over there you’ll see book reviews by other people you won’t see here, so you might want to check it out.

Merry Christmas

From the gospel reading this morning:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through him, and without him nothing came to be.

And this morning, about 2000 years ago, He came to live with us for ever and always.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Woohoo! The Blog is Back

We had a website outage over the last couple of days; my webspace was moved to a new server, and there were…troubles. For a while, I thought I might have lost everything.

But things appear to be getting back to normal. Woohoo!

(One of the most annoying parts was not being able to explain about the outage on my blog, because my blog was not working. Funny how that works.)

Back in Action

The good folks at Dreamhost resolved my WordPress problems—the blog is now working again. And as a result of trying to diagnose them, I’ve upgraded all of the software, which means that many new features are available to me. Way cool.

Nix on Windows Live Writer

Windows Live Writer has now crashed or locked up my netbook at least twice.  That is, I think it was Live Writer’s fault.  This machine has been rock solid, but it crashed hard today, while invoking Live Writer, and then froze completely ten minutes later while I was using Live Writer.  Dunno what to make of it.

Anyway, do any of you Windows users have a desktop blogging program that you like?  Or do you just use the web interface?  Inquiring minds and all that.
