There is still the question of whether the current proposed solution is better or worse than the status quo.

Granted. I see no reason to think that it would be better, and lots of reasons to think that it would be worse—which is not to say that our current system is fine and dandy. Some systems are certainly better than others. But there’s no such thing as a perfect system that includes men and women. The health care utopia does not exist.
